iHunter

iHunter is a comprehensive hunting app designed specifically for hunters in various Canadian provinces including BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Yukon Territories. The app can be downloaded for free and users have the opportunity to try each province for three days without any cost. However, a purchase is required after this trial period to continue accessing the features of a particular province.

One of the key features of iHunter is its ability to provide hunters with an in-depth view of their respective province's hunting regulations. By overlaying hunting zones on top of different base maps, users can easily determine their current location and the zone they are in. Moreover, users can explore specific zones to find information about open seasons for big game, predators, game birds, and small game. Additionally, iHunter allows hunters to add waypoints to keep track of their hunting spots, past animal harvests, and landowner contact details.

The app offers a variety of features, many of which can be accessed offline:

• Log in to sync waypoints and preferences across multiple devices
• Utilize the sunrise/sunset calculator to determine legal hunting light at your location or a specific waypoint (works offline)
• Share your location with friends or family via email or text message (internet connection required for sending emails)
• View weather information at your current location or a specific waypoint (internet connection required for weather lookup)
• Access an Indian Reserve boundaries layer
• Import waypoints and tracks from .gpx files
• Track your position, speed, and altitude, draw over the map, search the map, and view recent and favorited items. Also, add customized TMS and WMS map layers. (Note: Location tracking uses GPS and may affect battery life if used continuously in the background)

In addition to the above features, iHunter offers a Public Land Access Layer subscription for specific provinces. Here are the subscription details for each province:

• Alberta: Provides access to Alberta's Agricultural Lease Land Boundaries, including leaseholder contact information and lease access restrictions for Farm Development Leases, Grazing Leases, and Grazing reserves. Subscription duration is one year.
• Ontario: Includes 10 additional layers, available through an annual subscription.
• Saskatchewan: Offers an annual subscription that enables the display of 5 additional layers.
• British Columbia: Provides access to 7 additional layers upon annual subscription.
• New Brunswick: Offers an annual subscription with access to 6 additional layers.
• Nova Scotia: Includes an annual subscription with access to 6 extra layers.

• Alberta: Overlays of county land ownership maps are available for Alberta at prices ranging from $9.99 to $29.99. These maps can only be viewed by purchasing the AB province.
